Dhawan top-scored the innings with an unbeaten 86 while Suryakumar scored a quick 31 off 20 balls. Sri Lankan bowlers were largely unable to arrest the barrage of runs that the Indian batsmen scored. Also, there were no half-centuries scored by the Sri Lankan batsmen on the first innings.

The Indian squad seems to be in great form. Youngsters Prithvi Shaw, Ishan Kishan, and Suryakumar Yadav are in great shape.
