DC vs MI – Match Preview

M.A Chidambaram, also known as Chepauk will host yet another game on Tuesday. It is known for its hard and dry pitch which eventually breaks down and becomes helpful for spinners. The teams winning the toss here would preferably go for batting but in recent IPL matches, teams have opted for bowling as the pitch has proven to be quite a low-scoring one.

Mumbai Team News

Mumbai Indians seem to have found their rhythm and are comfortable in defending low-scoring totals against big teams. Rohit Sharma and his men defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad, last Saturday and handed Sunrisers their third defeat in this IPL. Sunrisers Hyderabad was in contention to break away their bad run of games and brace themselves with a win against Mumbai, but could not. Mumbai Indians were fended off from scoring a massive total by the Sunrisers bowling attack. Although Quinton De Kock scored a slow 40 run off 39 balls, he might have possibly found his shape back as Rohit and de Kock partnered Mumbai to a 55 run haul in the powerplay. Trent Boult and Rahul Chahar showed how good they were with the ball and picked three wickets each. Mumbai looked very confident defending 150 runs against the brawny Sunrisers batting lineup which does not seem to kickstart off late.

Mumbai’s match against Delhi will definitely be a tough one as both of these teams are strong contenders for the trophy this season. Mumbai will be needing that extra bit of luck on their side if they were to score such a low total and expect to go through.

Predicted Eleven–  Kieron Pollard(Overseas), Ishan Kishan, Hardik Pandya, Trent Boult(Overseas), Rohit Sharma (c), Rahul Chahar, Krunal Pandya, Adam Milne(Overseas), Jasprit Bumrah, Quinton de Kock(Overseas), Suryakumar Yadav.

Delhi Capitals Team News

Capitals chased a 190 plus score making it look like a cakewalk for them. Delhi won the toss and invited KL Rahul’s Punjab Kings to bat first, but that did not age well. Rahul and Agarwal beat Delhi’s bowling attack black and blue and scored a 122 run partnership, a moment in the match where Delhi’s chances of winning the game looked grim. Punjab took the opportunity to bat first and scored a total as high as 195, but Delhi showed their fearless composure and chased it down in just 18.4 overs.

Shikhar Dhawan’s 92 off 49 balls will be the biggest highlight of the game along with Marcus Stoinis who picked up the match from an almost losing end and won the match in fine style. Stoinis scored 27 runs off 13 balls with 3 spectacular boundaries and a stadium erupting six. Delhi introduced their newly bought Australian prodigy, Steve Smith in the match. Although he did not make quite a mark, given his past records and some time, Smith is capable of being useful for his team and fatal for his opponents.

Delhi’s chest-thumping confidence will prove to be dangerous for Mumbai as they seem to have a slight edge over Rohit Sharma’s men.

Predicted Eleven–  Lalit Yadav, Shikhar Dhawan, Rishabh Pant (c), Steven Smith(Overseas), Prithvi Shaw, Chris Woakes(Overseas), Kagiso Rabada(Overseas), Avesh Khan, Marcus Stoinis(Overseas), Lukman Meriwala, Ravichandran Ashwin.
