Indian team won the toss and decided to bowl first. Watchers got upset when Captain Shafali Verma and Shweta Sehrawat lose in the fourth over. But, players like Soumya Tiwari and Gongadi Trisha gave the best bowling performance that resulted in the win for Team India.

Also, Titas Sadhu, Archana Devi, and Parshavi Chopra were successful in taking two scalps each. Sadhu is also a player of the match for the final of the U19 Women’s T20 WC. Everyone witnessed tears of happiness in the eyes of Indian team players after they won the maiden ICC title. Indian women’s cricket team has never won a World Cup before this event. BCCI has declared a big cash prize for the Indian team of the U19 Women’s T20 World Cup. The announcement was made by BCCI Secretary Jay Shah on social media. Also, he announced INR 5 crore for the entire Indian team after they win ICC Women’s U-19 T20 World Cup. Jay Shah has also invited the winning team to watch the third T20I match between India and New Zealand at Narendra Modi Stadium.

South Africa hosted the ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup in 2023. A total of 41 matches were played in this tournament. 16 teams took part in this tournament from January 14, 2023, To January 29, 2023. The 16 teams were separated into four groups of four. The matches took place at different venues in South Africa. These are the countries that participated in this tournament: England, India,  Australia, Bangladesh, Pakistan, South Africa, Ireland, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, West Indies, etc.

Earlier, this tournament was supposed to start at the end of 2021. But, due to COVID-19, ICC decided to begin the tournament in January 2023. U19 ICC T20 World Cup was started to get the top talented female players. This tournament has given many golden opportunities to aspiring Women Cricketers.

ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Starts From Next Month

Now, cricket lovers are waiting for the eighth edition of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. This tournament will also take place in South Africa. The tournament was also postponed earlier due to the 2022 FIFA World Cup. It was supposed to start at the end of 2022. Now, it will begin in February 2023. Each team has to pick 15 players to participate in the tournament.

The first match will be live telecast on 10 February between South Africa and Sri Lanka. The final of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2023 will happen on 26th February.
