Bangladesh announce their squad for T20 World Cup 2022

Bangladesh

Bangladesh has announced its roster for the 2022 Men’s ICC T20 World Cup in Australia and one big name is missing from the list of 15.

Former captain Mahmud Ullah has been banned from Bangladesh’s roster for the 2022 T20 World Cup, which will be captained by Shakib Al Hasan. Bangladesh has made major changes from the team that crashed out of the Asian Cup without winning.

Parvez Hossain Emon, Anamul Haque, Mahedi Hasan and Mohammad Naim, who were part of the Asian Cup team, miss the flight to Australia. The Tigers will also be without the services of two of their experienced middle-order batsmen in Mushfiqur Rahim, who retired after the Asian Cup, and Mahmud Ullah.

Bangladesh called out Litton Das, Yasir Ali, Nurul Hasan, Hasan Mahmud, and Najmul Hossain Shanto and reached the last 15 after missing out on the Asian Cup. Das did not participate in the Asian Cup after a hamstring injury during the tour of Zimbabwe. He has made a full recovery, as has Nurul, who sustained a finger injury.

Soumya Sarkar and Shoriful Islam, who made the T20 World Cup squad last year, are only on the waiting list along with Rishad Hossain and Shak Mahedi Hasan.

Squad:

Shakib Al Hasan (captain), Sabbir Rahman, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Afif Hossain, Mossadek Hossain, Litton Das, Yasir Ali, Nurul Hasan, Mustafizur Rahman, Saifuddin, Taskin Ahmed, Ebadot Hossain, Hasan Mahmud, Najmul Hossain, Nasum Ahmed.

Standby:

Soumya Sarkar, Shoriful Islam, Rishad Hossain, Shak Mahedi Hasan.

The same squad will travel to New New Zealand for a tri-series between 7 and 15 October that will also involve Pakistan.
