This guy’s determination and hard work differentiated him from others. He receives his training from a drunkard who was a great player of his time. The movie is about the power of hustle and that one can achieve anything with determination.

MS Dhoni- The untold story (2016)

This commercialized biopic of MS Dhoni portrayed his journey from a footballer to a school wicket-keeper to a ticket collector to playing for team India. The film depicted all of Dhoni’s challenges, even the personal ones. Sushant Singh Rajput’s portrayal of Dhoni has also been praised a lot and so have been Kiara Advani and Disha Patani’s portrayal of his wife and ex-girlfriend respectively.

Lagaan (2001)

Aamir Khan starrer Lagaan directed by Ashutosh Gowarikar is one of the finest examples of Indian cinema. It shows the poor conditions of the Indians during the British era. A young India took up the challenge of defeating the British in their own game. The stakes were high as the Indians would have to pay double taxes if they lost but the Indians won at last, proving their determination.

The story of a small town boy with a dream to play for Team India from him being rejected due to external politics to getting a chance to play by proving his mettle to sustaining an injury to hitting rock bottom but coming out victorious is sure to move you.

Jersey (2019)

It is the story of a father who starts playing cricket in his mid-30s to earn back his reputation in front of his son. He plays very well in the Ranji Trophy but died before he got called from Team India. He, nevertheless, won his respect back.
